Tourism & INTERACTIVE FARM EXPERIENCES
Currently under development is an brand new concept in providing an unique insight into the timber industry of yesteryear through to today’s modern production of handcrafted bespoke timber products.
Local schools, interstate and overseas visitors will be taken back through history to learn the traditional ways of selective timber harvesting, long before modern heavy machinery was used. The energy of the true Horse Power and man muscle will be witnessed on this fascinating interactive Tasmanian Timber farm experience.
A brand new Tasmanian Timber Interactive Centre © is planned, which will offer the visitor a chance to purchase bespoke timber products handcrafted on site. The visitor will watch the team of local craftsmen take raw timber and turn it into beautiful gifts.
A limited number of small group workshops are also planned, where participants can choose their own piece of living timber, watch it being felled then become totally engrossed in producing their very own piece of Tasmanian Timber furniture.
The TTIC will be seen to also be a huge benefit to the local community of Ellendale as well as The Central Highlands District, bringing in additional tourist numbers, increasing the potential for employment in the area as well as future training of students in the art of handcrafted timber work, ONLY found at Turning Point Wood Works’ Tasmanian Timber Interactive Centre ©
